“If you want to make your dreams come true, the first thing you have to do is wake up.” --- J.M. Power

To have a dream is easy, but to make it a reality will need solid work. Or rather, you need that trigger to just start today, now.

“If you want to make your dreams come true, the first thing you have to do is wake up.” - J.M. Power

I am going to start off with time management. If you have not realised yet, the world is not fair and this would have been obvious already because we are being reminded every single day that our life is never exactly the same as someone else. But perhaps unknowingly, we all have one thing in common, and that is the amount of time every human being alive have in a day - 24 hours.

HOW TO GET MORE THAN 24 HOURS?

No, it’s just not possible.. then the question is how do we make ourselves feel like we own every hours? Work more effectively, work more efficiently. but how? First, let's break down our hours!

24 HOURS, 8 hours to sleep, that left us 16 active hours.

Take away another 4 hours for eat, bath, relax and really doing nothing at all (we all need a good break in a day am I right), that really leave us with only 12 hours.

Attention Span

Now, on average, a person takes 20 mins to be engaged in a task OR in the zone. And that attention would most probably last for 4 hours the longest or rather that is a good sweet amount of time to really get things done and not over-strain yourself. In that case, we can complete 3 TASKS in a day! That is honestly a plenty, but why half the time we always just feel like we are not doing enough?

Of course this is the ideal equation but there’s always a gap time when you jump between tasks and don’t forget to take into account the little disturbance in our daily motion of lives. We still have to socialise (a huge part of out life). And of course we are not going to make ourselves become grinding, hustling robots that work non-stop, so it’s good to just take another 2 hours off to let ourselves do other ‘passionate’ project or just chit-chat, really.

The gist

So that’s it. FOCUS is the key here. we are down to 10 hours a day of productive work and really this is A LOT to even ask from yourself but this is it, and it is possible. sometimes a 2-hours task last 4 hours due to distractions.

Which will bring us to another factor - our environment. It is also very important to learn to be resilient to your surroundings or build a distraction-free surrounding which I will talk about the next time!
